Event dedicated to the memory of the Lozoraitis diplomats at the House of Signatories

On 27 September 2024 at the House of Signatories the Lithuanian Ambassadors’ Club held an event to honour the memory of outstanding Lithuanian diplomats – Stasys Lozoraitis, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chief of Diplomacy, and his sons – Ambassadors Stasys Lozoraitis and Kazys Lozoraitis.

The historian Dr. Vilma Bukaitė opened the meeting by offering a wealth of knowledge and context for the exhibition “Lozoraitis Lithuania: When the Personal Becomes Political“ inviting the Club members and guests to delve deeper into the exhibition.

The event was significantly enriched by the presence of Professor Vytautas Landsbergis, the first leader of Lithuania after the restoration of independence. Participants had the unique opportunity to listen to Professor Landsbergis recollections of the Lozoraitis diplomats, who made a significant contribution to preserving and developing Lithuanian statehood and diplomacy. The Professor revealed interesting and previously unheard facts about this distinguished Lithuanian diplomatic family, focusing primarily on the important contributions of Ambassador Stasys Lozoraitis during the early years of restored independence.
