On 7 February 2023, the Lithuanian Ambassadors’ Club organised a lecture-discussion “Valdemaras Vytautas Čarneckis: Diplomatic Activity and beyond”. The event was dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of Valdemaras Vytautas Čarneckis, who was a well-known pre-war Lithuanian political figure, Foreign minister and diplomat.
The lecturer of the event, Dr Audronė Veilentienė, the Head of the Kaunas University of Technology Museum, told about the activities of the well-known pre-war Lithuanian political figure and diplomat in the positions of the Head of the Department of Finance, the Minister of Transport, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Minister Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania in the USA, the Great Britain and Italy. His entire activity was designated to the establishment of the Lithuanian state and the strengthening of her Independence. “You have to work in such a way that you will be missed”, said Valdemaras Vytautas Čarneckis.
The organised event in person and virtually was attended by more than 70 participants, including Liudvika Černeckiene, the daughter-in-law of Valdemaras V. Čarneckis, grandchildren Kęstutis and Andrius Černeckis with their families, and great-grandson Paulius Černeckis.
